Inventory

Introduction

The cars of the dealership and their records

The inventory holds every car that the dealership tracks. Each car has a record with its identity, specification, prices, photos, documents and lifecycle stage.

Some buttons in the dashboard use the word vehicle. In these guides, a vehicle is a car.

Guides

The car page

Select a car in the list to open its page. The page shows the car name, the stage, the plate and the VIN. A summary column shows the cover photo, the lifecycle, the shipping record and the valuation. The remaining content sits in tabs.

The Status column of the list shows one badge for each car. The badge shows Reserved when a car in stage In Inventory has an open deal. The badge shows Unallocated when a car in stage Sold has no active deal. Every other car shows its stage.

Who can do what

Every team member can open the inventory and the car pages. Changes depend on the role and on two rights that the dealership assigns.

ActionRequirement
Add a car, use VIN ExtractOwner or Manager
Edit a car, change the stage, upload, remove or share filesOwner or Manager
Archive, return or delete a carOwner or Manager
See purchase and asking prices, the Price column, price filters and price sortingCar Financial Access
See and open car documentsCar Documents Access

The Staff role has none of the change actions. A dealership grants Car Financial Access and Car Documents Access for each role. See the Settings guides.

Without Car Financial Access, the dashboard hides every price of a car. The server also refuses price filters and price sorting for that team member. Without Car Documents Access, the Documents section does not appear, and the file count on the Files tab excludes documents.

Notes

  • The Create Deal action on a car belongs to the Deals guides.
