Task List

Search, filter, sort and arrange the columns of the task list, and change several tasks at once

The task list shows every task of the dealership. The header states the number of matching tasks, for example 12 Tasks.

Search and filter

  1. Open Tasks in the sidebar.
  2. Enter text in the search field. The placeholder reads Title, contact, make, model…. The field searches the task title, the contact name, and the make and model of the linked car.
  3. Select one or more chips under Status. Select a chip again to turn it off.
  4. Select one chip under Assignee.
  5. Select Type to open the type list. Mark one or more types. The list groups the types as in the task form.
  6. Choose an order in Sort.
  7. Select Clear to remove the status, type and assignee filters and to restore the default order. The search text stays.

A change to any filter returns the list to the first page.

The headers #, Task, Priority and Due also sort the list. A header click selects the matching option in Sort.

Columns

  1. Select Columns.
  2. Mark or clear a column name.

The selectable columns are Number, Task, Type, Status, Priority, Assignee, Vehicle, Due and Completed. The Completed column is hidden by default. The browser remembers the choice.

A due date appears in red when the task is not Done or Cancelled and the date has passed.

Pages

The list shows 25 tasks on each page. Use Previous and Next to move between pages. The line below the list reads, for example, Showing 1–25 of 60.

Open a task

Select a row to open the task page. The menu at the end of a row offers Open. It offers Edit to team members with the Edit Any Task permission and Delete to team members with the delete permission.

Change several tasks at once

  1. Mark the checkbox of each task. The bar shows the count, for example 3 tasks selected.
  2. Select Change Status and choose a status. This requires the Edit Any Task permission.
  3. Or select Delete and confirm with Delete 3 tasks. This requires the delete permission.
  4. Select Clear to drop the selection.

A message reports how many tasks changed and how many did not. The selection applies to the current page only.

A move to Cancelled and a move out of Done or Cancelled require a reason. When any selected task needs one, a dialog opens with the title, for example, Mark 3 Tasks Cancelled. Enter the reason in the Reason field and select Apply. The same reason is written to every selected task that needs one. A task that needs no reason for the chosen move is changed without it.

A task that already has the chosen status is not changed, and the message counts it among the tasks that could not be moved. A bulk move to Done records no result and no summary.

Deleting a task also deletes its checklist, comments, attachments and history. The action cannot be undone.

Narrow screens

On a narrow screen, select Filters. A drawer opens with Sort, Status, Type and Assignee. The button at the bottom of the drawer reads Show 12 tasks. Select Clear all to reset the filters.

Empty states

  • No Tasks Yet appears when the dealership has no tasks.
  • No Tasks Match appears when the search and the filters match no task.
