Deals
Edit and Delete
Correct the details of a deal or remove a deal created by mistake
Edit a deal to correct the customer, the price or the terms. Delete a deal only when it was created by mistake.
Requirements: The deal update permission to edit and the deal delete permission to delete. The Owner and Manager roles hold both. The Edit action also needs Deal Financial Access and Partner Commission Access. Without both, the action is hidden.
- Open the deal, or find it in the deals list.
- Select Edit in the actions menu of the deal. The Edit Deal dialog opens.
- Change the fields. The fields are the same as in the Open a Deal dialog.
- Select Save Changes.
The toast Deal updated confirms the change.
The deal page offers two shorter edits. Both need the deal update permission.
- Sale price: Select the Edit sale price button, enter the amount and select Save sale price. The toast reads Sale price updated. This edit needs Deal Financial Access.
- Expected delivery: In the Details card, select Edit expected delivery and pick a date. The date saves at once. Clearing the date saves too. The toasts read Delivery date updated and Delivery date cleared.
Changing the sale price of a Won deal recalculates the commission amount and the commission in the Awaiting list.
- Open the actions menu of the deal, on the deal page or in the deals list.
- Select Delete.
- In the dialog Delete and the deal name, select Delete deal.
The toast Deal deleted confirms the removal. The deal page closes and the deals list opens.
- Select the checkbox of each deal in the list.
- Select Delete in the bar that shows the number of selected deals.
- Confirm with Delete and the number.
- Deleting a deal also deletes its status history. The action cannot be undone.
- A Won deal cannot be deleted. The message reads A won deal is history. Mark it cancelled instead of deleting it. Mark the deal Cancelled instead.
- When several deals are deleted together, the Won deals are skipped and the others are deleted.
- Money already recorded against a deal stays in the ledger after the deal is deleted.
- To keep a record of a deal that did not complete, mark it Lost or Cancelled with a reason instead of deleting it.
