Mark a deal won, lost or cancelled, or reopen it
Change the status of a deal to record whether the sale happened.
Requirements: The deal update permission, held by the Owner and Manager roles. Marking a deal won also needs a sale price and an attached car.
The toast Marked Won confirms the change. The Stage shows Won.
If the sale price or the car is missing, the dashboard refuses the change. The messages are Set the sale price before marking this deal won. and Attach the car before marking this deal won. See Attach a car to a deal.
The Cancel button next to the reason closes the field without a change. A reason is required. The reason appears on the Overview tab under Closing Reason.
A deal that is already Won can also move to Lost or Cancelled. A Won deal cannot be deleted, so Cancelled is the way to remove a won sale from the active deals.
A Lost or Cancelled deal must be reopened before it can be marked Won.
The dashboard changes each deal on its own. A toast reports the deals that changed and the deals that failed, with the first reason for the failures.
| Change | Effect |
|---|---|
| To Won | The commission amount is fixed from the terms and the sale price. The car moves to Sold when it is at an earlier stage. The car history records Sold on deal # and the number. |
| To Won with a partner and terms | The commission is added to the Awaiting list of the deal. The label is Commission for and the partner name, or Settlement from and the partner name for a markup deal. |
| Out of Won | The fixed commission amount is cleared. The car returns to In Inventory only when it is still at Sold. A car that is already loaded or in transit keeps its stage. An unsettled commission in the Awaiting list is cancelled. |
| To Lost or Cancelled | The car is free for another deal. |
