Change the name, photo and phone number of the signed-in account



The profile holds the personal details of the signed-in account and shows how the account appears to the team.

**Requirements:** Every signed-in account may open the profile. No role or permission applies.

## Steps [#steps]

1. Select **Profile** in the user menu. Alternatively, open **[Settings](https://carlio.app/dashboard/settings)** and select **[Profile](https://carlio.app/dashboard/settings/profile)** under **Personal**.
2. To set a photo, select **Upload photo** and choose a file. When a photo exists, the button reads **Change photo**.
3. To delete the photo, select the **Remove photo** button on the avatar.
4. Edit the **Name** field. The name needs at least 2 characters.
5. Edit the **Phone** field. Enter a mobile number with its country code. The field may stay empty.
6. Select **Save Changes**.

## Result [#result]

The message **The profile has been updated.** appears. The new name and photo show in the user menu and in the member list of the team.

| Email | Read only. The field cannot be edited.                                                        |
| Phone | Optional. A mobile number with its country code, used for messaging on WhatsApp and Telegram. |

## Notes [#notes]

* **Save Changes** stays disabled until the name, the phone number or the photo changes.
* The page reports a file that is too large, empty or of another type. The profile keeps its previous photo in that case.
* If the photo upload fails, the profile is not saved. An error message appears and no other change is stored.
* An invalid phone number produces the message "Enter a valid mobile number, including the country code."
* The email address cannot be changed. Below the field, the text states whether the address is verified.
* An unverified address shows the text "Not verified yet" with a statement that verification requires the confirmation link sent to the address.
* WhatsApp is not a notification channel. The phone number does not enable notifications on WhatsApp.
