Create, protect with a password, send, replace and delete the link to the page of a sales partner



The partner page lets a sales partner read a commission statement, the deals of the partner and shared documents. The link is created on the page of the partner in the dashboard.

**Requirements:** permission to issue partner portal links (**Issue Partner Portal Links**) and access to commission terms. The owner and manager roles hold both by default.

## Create the link [#create-the-link]

1. Open **[Partners](https://carlio.app/dashboard/partners)** in the sidebar and select the partner.
2. Find the **Partner Portal** panel in the side column.
3. Select **Create link**.

The dashboard shows the message "Portal link created". The panel shows **Open Portal**, the expiry date in **Expires** and the row **Password**. The link is valid for 365 days.

## Copy or send the link [#copy-or-send-the-link]

1. Open the menu with the three dots in the **Partner Portal** panel.
2. Optional: select **Language** and choose a language. The entry **Their language** is the default.
3. Select **Copy link**, or select **Send on WhatsApp**.

The WhatsApp message reads "Your account with us" followed by the link. The message names no commission or statement. The message goes to the phone number of the partner when the partner record holds one.

## Protect the link with a password [#protect-the-link-with-a-password]

1. Open the menu with the three dots.
2. Select **Set a password**.
3. Enter the password in **New password**. The field shows the password as plain text, so the sender can read it back. The password needs at least 8 characters.
4. Select **Save password**.

The row **Password** now reads **Enabled**. The panel states "The link opens only with the password."

* Send the password separately from the link.
* **Change password** replaces the password. A visitor who is already signed in must enter the new password.
* **Remove password** lets the link open without a password. The dashboard shows "Password removed. The link now opens on its own."

## Replace the link [#replace-the-link]

1. Open the menu with the three dots.
2. Select **Change Link**.

The old link stops working at once. The new link is valid for 365 days.

## Delete the link [#delete-the-link]

1. Open the menu with the three dots.
2. Select **Delete**.

The dashboard shows "Portal link and password revoked". The page stops opening. The password is removed together with the link, so a later link starts without a password.

  A partner page shows commission amounts and the standing terms of the partner. Without a password,
  anyone who holds the link can open it. Set a password for a link that is sent over a shared
  channel.

## Notes [#notes]

* The panel states "Anyone holding this link can open the portal." while a link without a password exists.
* A partner who enters a wrong password five times within 15 minutes must wait before the next attempt.
* A partner stays signed in on the same browser for 12 hours after entering the password.
* Messages from the partner appear in the **Messages** tab of the partner page. Replies are written in the field **Reply to the partner…**.
