Remove a partner from the active list or delete a record created by mistake



Archive a partner who no longer works with the dealership. Delete a partner only when the record was created by mistake.

**Requirements:** The partner update permission to archive or restore, and the partner delete permission to delete. The Owner and Manager roles hold both. Both actions also need **Partner Directory Access**.

## Archive or restore a partner [#archive-or-restore-a-partner]

1. Select **[Partners](https://carlio.app/dashboard/partners)** in the sidebar.
2. Open the row menu of the partner.
3. Select **Archive**. To bring an archived partner back, set the **Status** menu to **Archived** and select **Restore** in the row menu.

The toast **Partner archived** or **Partner restored** confirms the change. The partner page offers the same **Archive** and **Restore** buttons.

An archived partner leaves the default list. The partner page shows the word **Archived**. The record keeps its deals, commissions, notes and documents.

## Delete a partner [#delete-a-partner]

1. Open the row menu of the partner.
2. Select **Delete**.
3. In the dialog **Delete** and the partner name, select **Delete partner**.

The toast shows the partner name followed by **was deleted**.

## Change several partners at once [#change-several-partners-at-once]

1. Select the checkbox of each partner in the list.
2. Select **Archive** or **Restore** in the bar that shows the number of selected partners. The button reads **Restore** when every selected partner is archived.
3. For a deletion, select **Delete** and confirm with **Delete** and the number.

A toast reports the partners that changed and the partners that could not change.

## Notes [#notes]

* A partner with deals cannot be deleted. The message reads **This partner has deals. Archive them instead so the history is kept.**
* A deletion cannot be undone.
* In a bulk deletion, partners with deals are kept and reported.
