Release photos, videos and documents of a car on the customer portal



This guide controls which files of a car the buyer can see on the customer portal.

**Requirements:** The Owner or Manager role.

## Share one file [#share-one-file]

1. Open the car and select the **Files** tab.
2. Point at the file. On a touch screen the buttons are always visible.
3. Select the eye button. Its label reads **Show** followed by the file name and **to customer**.

A shared photo or video carries the badge **Shared**. The tooltip of the eye button reads **Visible to Customer**. A hidden file shows **Hidden from Customer**.

To hide the file again, select the same button. Its label then reads **Hide** followed by the file name and **from customer**.

In the **Documents** card, each row has the same eye button beside the download button.

## Share the whole gallery [#share-the-whole-gallery]

1. Open the **Files** tab.
2. In **Photos and video**, select **Share Gallery With Buyer**.

The dashboard releases every photo and video of the car. A message reports how many files were updated, for example **12 files updated**.

When every photo and video is already shared, the button reads **Hide Gallery From Buyer**. Select it to hide them all.

The gallery action never changes documents. Each document is shared one file at a time, so paperwork is not released by accident.

## Rules [#rules]

* A new file is hidden from the buyer until a team member shares it.
* The portal shows shared files only for cars on open or won deals of that customer.
* Files in **From Tasks** belong to the task and have no share button here.
* The share setting does not move a file between the cards. A document stays private, with no public address.

The buyer sees the shared files on the customer portal. Hidden files do not appear. See the Portals guides for the portal itself.
